Johannesburg, South Africa — August 20, 2025 Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has once again ignited debate across Africa by calling for a single African president, a continental currency, and a united army capable of challenging the dominance of Western powers and the US dollar’s global supremacy.

Speaking during a political address in Johannesburg, Malema emphasized that Africa’s fragmented states remain vulnerable to exploitation by foreign interests, arguing that only deep political and economic integration could ensure Africa’s sovereignty and prosperity.

“The borders that divide us are artificial. Africa is one people, yet we are scattered and weakened. We need one currency, one president, and one army to protect our resources and our future,” Malema declared.
